Car of the team that participated in Formula Student Italy 2018 winning Class 3 is made and taken to the track. “Shake your mono” is the key phrase of 2018.
The fourth car, internal nomenclature (P4M), sees the design twisted and revolutionized in all aspects:
- Frame: changing from a steel trellis to a carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum honeycomb (sandwich structure);
- Powertrain: from a multi-cylinder supercharged automotive engine to a motorcycle-derived single-cylinder also supercharged;
- Dynamics: a new suspension package with a mixed system at the rear and a torsion bar system at the front;
- Aerodynamics: the wing package is also optimized through wind tunnel studies using a scale model;
- Electronics: the electronic communication system adopted uses the CAN-Bus protocol.
The car participated in the Formula Student Italy 2019 and Formula Student Germany 2019 competitions.
For 2019 the car features a new livery for the 50th anniversary of the Polytechnic University of Marche, gold and black, on the rear wing is played with the mascot of the university, (a peacock), and the considerable size of the monocoque, in fact appears the inscription “Big Black Peacock”.

The car traces the previous design, reducing weight with a new layering of the chassis and aerodynamics, ergonomics is improved by inserting a carbon monocoque shell seat and steering wheel, the construction of some components in hemp fiber and alternative materials is also studied, with significantly lower environmental impact than carbon fiber.
As per tradition, the team when presenting the new car chooses the representative phrase of the year: “Eat Pasta, drive fasta.”
The car will participate in Formula Student Italy events and Formula EAST in 2021
