The story of the Polimarche Racing Team, Formula SAE team of the Polytechnic University of Marche, begins in November 2013, when prof. Dario Amodio, then dean of the Faculty of Engineering, proposed the project to the students of the “machine construction” course. With great enthusiasm the boys accepted the professor’s proposal, set to work and in September of the following year they brought the very first Peacock into the race.
From that moment on, the team moved by great motivation and passion has only grown: from year to year more and more young people have joined the project, also favoring the growth of skills and know-how of the team. All this, combined with the support of sponsors and technical partners, has allowed us to take great steps: the implementation of the aerodynamic package, the transition from an automotive engine to the engineering of a motorcycle engine with turbocharger, but above all the transition from a chassis to carbon fiber monocoque trellis.
The team currently consists of 70 students from the various faculties of the university: mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology, and economics.
Each year, the turnover allows us to keep the motivation of the Team alive by combining the experience of those who have already worked with the enthusiasm of newcomers, always promoting new solutions and challenging objectives, promoting the development of knowledge and the contamination of skills among students.
